Games at Inlet Park

The weather cleared and the sun shown brightly for our fun night out at Inlet Park tonight. So many people brought super yummy food--cute Aime Abley's cupcakes were gone in a flash! Always count on her for some good treats. And Trent's still talking about the strudel. Who made that?

The kids were excited to participate in the Pickle Eating Contest. We had five winners in five different age groups. What a super fun thing to watch and to hear grownups (parents) cheering their little ones on.

We provided Vlasic pickles and required each group to eat 3, 2 or 1 pickles or the tiny tots to eat tiny sweet pickles. Cute! Cute! Cute!

This year we introduced a kinder, gentler Fear Factor. (No jalepenos or habanero peppers.) For the physical component we had the contestants play Twister. Two "eating" categories we had them chug a 2 liter of soda with a 2 minute time limit and for the other, a simple pie. Watch the video to see who won the soda drinking.

The final "yucky" thing required each team member consume a special layered pie. Our culinary creation called for a graham cracker pie crust, a generous helping of saurkraut, a layer of raspberry jello topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Again, watch the video for a gruesome experience.

In all, it was a beautiful evening to spend time with friends and neighbors. Lots of laughter, some gagging, and a good time was had by all.

Thanks for your support and help!!! The Activities Committee couldn't do these things without all of you. We have a fantastic, fun loving Ward.

We even had some youngsters voluntarily trying out the Fear Factor fare. Crazy kids or future contestants? Hmmm . . .
