Pioneer Day fun!

Fourth Annual Pioneer Day Festivities

The evening began with a Children's Bike Parade. Balloons, streamers, sparkly things, OH MY! The children had a blast riding their bikes in two groups: younger (strollers to needing training wheels) and older kids. I flashed back to the early days of the Children's Bike Parade when I watched the big kids riding their bikes. I remember when those kids were in strollers, tricycles or were just glimmers in their parents' eyes. Time has flown over the last 7 years!

The Bishop and his wife hosted dinner (not many pictures of people eating!!) and then we all headed out into the neighborhood for some fun miniature golfing. A big thankyou to the families who created such fun holes this year. Wow! We even had two families that were repeat entries from last year. That is dedication and service, to do this more than once. We have a great neighborhood full of fun families. Thank you!

Congratulations are in order to the Lungren family whose hole won the most popular votes. They received a few more votes than the Sorensen family. Thank you to all of the families who made a fun evening for all of us.

The weather held up for the most part. Fireworks were dutifully set off despite wind and some sprinkles of rain. Having at least 12-15 families that I know of that were out of town for the three day weekend, and the older scouts finishing up a week at camp, the usual guilty pyros weren't setting off fireworks this night. It made room for new additions bearing blow torches.

All in all, it was another great day of fun for our ward and neighborhood. Thank you all for coming out to celebrate!

  1. Thanks so much for these posts Megan. I was SO sick that day and was sad to be missing out on all the fun. It was great to see pictures of Jim and the kids (I stole a few of them :).

    You are amazing!
