Pioneer Day!!!!

Hi All!

Just wanted to let you know that the Ward Activity for July is going to be a BIG one. Pioneer Day, July 24th will be our Ward's 4th Annual Potluck Dinner/Miniature Golf/Firework Extravaganza!

Mark your calendars for the 5K fun run on the morning of the 24th at 7:30 a.m.

Children's Bike Parade at 5:30 p.m. (on Maverick)

Dinner at the Bishop's house on Maverick
will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Potluck food assignments by last name:
A-G Side Dish
H-O Dessert
P-Z Main Dish

Miniature Golfing starts at 7:00 p.m.

Fireworks in front of the Millingtons at dark. (2312 Morgan Road.)
Miniature Golf Hole voting will be done at that time.

We are looking forward to your golf hole creations this year! We need 10 families in the neighborhood to put together a golf hole in their yard. We provide plastic balls and plastic clubs to help prevent any real balls from doing any damage. The golfers must use these items.

The most popular hole receives a prize!

How to Contribute

This is not an official church website. The Millingtons have had the blessing of being on the JR Ward Activities Committee for several years. We realized that we have MANY pictures that are just sitting on our computer, taking up space. Blogging, a recent tool at our disposal, seemed like the logical way to share with members of our ward some of the amazing and fun experiences we've had together.

If you have pictures you'd like to add (or details about these events) please email herdofmillingtons@hotmail.com. It's a little difficult to help run an activity, watch my own children and record for posterity's sake, so PLEASE feel free to contribute to this blog!

You can also click on the "comment" button after a post to add to your own comment. It will be posted for everyone to see. We sure hope you get a kick out of this blog. The Millingtons LOVE our calling and have loved getting to know so many of your families through it.

2nd Annual Variety Show

Tonight was the our ward's 2nd Annual Variety Show. We had a variety of acts: musical performances by song or instrument or both featuring Blythe Butler, Brianna Wyckoff, Micah Butler, Alyssa and Ashlie Stoddard, Elise and Caroline Evans, Brittany Gibbs and Doug Wheeler. The range of talent was truly astonishing!

The ever fun Monson family raised quite a few laughs with an adorable skit featuring their baby kitty and the Young Women made us all laugh at Blondes.

We had two performances from the acrobat Ian Wheeler and a cute little song by Jocelyn Millington.

The most interactive event of the evening was performed by Doug Wheeler, issuing an icecream eating contest to five young boys from the audience. You'll have to watch the video to see who won!

We'd like to thank all the families who shared their talents with us and we'd like to thank all of those who attended this evening's activity.
