A Journey to Bethlehem

In 2007 the Activities Committee put on "A Journey to Bethlehem" again. It was a beautiful evening. Again, a huge thank you for all of those who created backdrops, who acted the parts, who were ushers, who dressed for the evening and who attended that night!

JR Ward first 5K Fun Run was a success! We had so many turn out for a beautiful run/jog/walk/stroll/ride along the lake.

We had winners in many categories including, first stroller, first pregnant woman, first walker, first Primary boy and girl, first YM, YW, first member of the Bishopric, etc.

As I was creating this blog, I realized I didn't take one picture of the dinner in the Bishop's back yard. Sorry!

Iron Chef Competition

Iron Chef? What can I say? This is probably the most controversial of the activities our ward has done. It is a TON of fun for the spectators and the samplers, but I think fun and stress collide in a big way for the teams. But our teams were AWESOME sports.

Iron Chef is a cooking competition from the TV Food Network. There is a small cult following of the show around here and there were many good natured volunteers who wanted to give it a try.

The teams had a secret ingredient they had to use and one hour in which to use it to create dishes by the seat of their pants. This years ingredient? Citrus.

Team Haynie won the competition and we had to wait another year until 2008 for a rematch against those champions!
