A Journey to Bethlehem

The Ward Christmas Activity was a very collaborative effort in 2006. MANY families volunteered to put on A Journey to Bethlehem. It was a spiritual journey that moved from one component to another in the Biblical Christmas story. Replete with Angels, Shephards, Wise Men, and a visit to the stable.

Dinner was served to the Ward after the journey. Many ward members dressed the part for the journey, even though they weren't in the live nativity itself. It was a wonderful evening.

Pioneer Day--the first year

These pictures are from the first Pioneer Day Neighborhood Miniature Golf Activity. It was a bit crazy to be doing an activity and trying to take pictures, so there aren't a lot of them. Please don't feel bad if your family isn't photographed, mine isn't either!

The families in the Ward were awesome. So many people brought amazing food to the potluck dinner at the Bishop's house. The Bishop and his wife have generously hosted this dinner three years in a row, 2009 will make 4 years of hosting an entire ward in their back yard!

Just a couple pictures from the neighborhood Miniature Golfing. All of the wholes were located on Maverick this first year. The competition was fierce with the popular vote going to the Pickering Family.

The Children's Patriotic Bike Parade

And there were fireworks, just no photographic proof that it happened!

About 2006

Trent and I were called to the Activities Committee in January of 2006. We had never had this calling before. We have LOVED it!

2006 had many memorable activities, not all were photographed by me. We did a spring activity that was about gardening. I cannot recall all the details, but I remember that Amy Monson did a mini class on gardening with kids and Scott Patterson did a mini class on landscape design. The kids made bug boxes, bug jewelry and played a guess the seed game. It was a fun activity!

The ward was introduced to Dinner Groups this year. I believe we did 3 or 4 dinner groups that allowed many families to meet each other.

We also hosted a Trunk or Treat.
